Meet the Team
Nokware is built by women who do it all, together.
There’s no outsourcing here. No contract manufacturers. Just an all-female team of Black women formulating, producing, testing, packing, researching, writing, designing, shipping and telling our story from start to finish.
Our work is shaped by lived experience, cultural knowledge and a deep respect for African ingredients and traditions. Every formula is created with care. Every batch is made with purpose.
We don’t separate creativity from execution.
And we don’t believe in staying in our lane.
More than anything, we believe in building people, not just products. We make room for young women stepping into their first job and give them a place to learn, grow and find confidence. We also hire women for whom this may be their last job - women who carry families, support households and hold everything together.
And we proudly employ women without formal education, whose strength, skill and resilience speak louder than any certificate.
This is how Nokware works. With dignity and opportunity for every woman involved.
A Note from the Founder
I did not set out to build a company. It began as a side hustle, something I worked on as a 26 year old fresh out of school, job searching and finding my footing. But God had other plans.
I grew up around African ingredients that worked without noise or explanation. Shea butter. Black soap. Neem oil. They were simply part of everyday life, so familiar that I rarely stopped to question their value. Years later, living abroad, I watched a friend’s skin completely transform using those same ingredients, ingredients she had never heard of, despite being African herself.
Seeing something I had always taken for granted work so powerfully changed how I saw it. What had once felt ordinary suddenly felt important. When Nokware first launched, I did not think Ghanaians would be drawn to it. In my mind, these were everyday products already found in most homes. I imagined it more for the diaspora. But when people in Ghana began to respond in a positive way, especially to the way it was packaged, I realised something bigger was happening.
The goal then became bigger than any single product. It became about creating space for African skincare, not as an afterthought or a trend, but as a force in its own right. Tradition and heritage, not polished for approval, but respected and shared on our own terms.
Thank you for choosing Nokware. Thank you for trusting our story, our ingredients, and our way of doing things. I do not take that trust lightly.
With gratitude,
Tutuwa
